Bluetooth headsets - What you should know
Posted on May 7, 2009, by Abu Duha, under Communications.
Bluetooth headsets have become widely available for most mobile phone makes in the last five to six years. Bluetooth headsets come with controls and commands that are both easy to remember and to perform. U user’s guide will have you comfortable using your headset in no time. Sim free mobile phones are convenient, can be worn while wearing glasses, on either ear and require no hands.
There are two basic styles of Bluetooth headsets available. There are Bluetooth headsets which are worn over the ear; these are very comfortable, but can slip off in some circumstances. There are also headsets which are designed to be inserted in your ear. These are not nearly as comfortable, but do stay in place nicely.
These sim free mobile phones have between two and ten hours of talk time and 25 to 200 hours of standby time. Since battery life is often a concern, you’ll generally want to turn off your headset when you’re not using it. If you know you’ll be making or receiving calls, then you’ll probably want to keep the set on your ear and powered up. You should make sure to purchase a headset which is easy to put on so that you don’t have to wear it all the time, however.
If you are at all concerned about the radiation that you could possibly be exposed to when you use your mobile phone, then you should definitely be using some form of hands free headset. Although it does not protect you completely, it certainly lessens the amount you are exposed to. Of course, studies into radiation emission by mobile phones have thus far been rather inconclusive. However, it is certainly something that should be considered.
Hands-free devices like Bluetooth headsets are also perfect for making and receiving calls while you drive. You can still keep both hands on the wheel without missing any important calls and as long as your phone is somewhere in the car, you can use your Bluetooth headset.
You can also use your Bluetooth headset to connect with any Bluetooth-capable devices, including your computer! You can receive or make calls on your mobile phone or your computer with the same headset; they’re also ideal for teleconferencing. Best of all, these sim free phones are compatible with any Bluetooth enabled phone; so even if you get a new phone, you can keep the same headset.
Bluetooth headsets have come a long way in terms of design, with great strides having been made since the earliest models. There are Bluetooth headsets available in many designs and different price ranges - but for a really good quality headset, you’ll probably pay at least $300. With all of the benefits they offer, this is definitely a good investment in your personal communications capability.
