No one ever said that planning the perfect wedding reception is quick and easy. It can become somewhat stressful for the organizer while making sure that every thing occurs without any problems. There are assortments of wedding decorations that need to be in place on time for the wedding day.
If you decide to save money by not hiring a professional wedding planner and do all your own wedding shopping, these six tips will offer you some wedding reception ideas that can aid you while you plan your own perfect wedding reception.
You should begin your wedding shopping as soon as you can. Plan to have all your wedding reception accessories in their place the day before your wedding if you can. For instance, along with your wedding reception decorations you should leave your change of clothing for the honeymoon at the bridal reception area. While you are there, take some time to visit with any staff members who will be on duty during the day of your wedding reception and make sure they know what it is you need.
If your cake vendor is not delivering your wedding cake for you, consider picking up the wedding cake the day before your wedding. Remember, to find out if the cake requires any type of special overnight storage on the same day that you make your cake reservations. Call ahead of time to make sure that it is available for pick up the day before the wedding.
Plan to have all your wedding reception decorations deliverable to the reception location as early as possible. Keep in mind that any fresh floral arrangements should arrive on the morning of your wedding. Make sure that you let the location staffs know to expect the flowers and where they should place the items.
Involve your family members and friends. You should have at least one person who is helping you with the wedding shopping. Get her to help in ensuring the wedding reception venue arrangements are taken care of. This shouldn’t be one of your bridal party, you need to know that your bridesmaids are where they’re supposed to be, and not chasing down missing tableware or polishing glassware so that it sparkles instead of being slightly dusty from being in a box.
Appoint someone who is responsible for making sure that everyone in your wedding party has ample transportation to your wedding ceremony and reception, unless you plan your ceremony and wedding reception in the same location. Keep in mind, there will be someone who may require a ride to your wedding ceremony or the reception. Make sure the person you choose for this assignment can help make transportation arrangements for those who may not have a means of transportation on your wedding day.
You will also need to assign someone responsible for making sure the children are entertained during your wedding reception. Although, weddings are family affairs there may be children who cannot keep still or quiet during the wedding speeches. Remember the children while you are wedding shopping. You can keep your younger guests happy by having on hand some coloring books and crayons. Designate one of your bridesmaids to help prevent any potential problems, since you do not want the children to bother with any of your wedding reception decorations as well!
